What time does The Peninsula Picnic start and finish?

The Peninsula Picnic 2017 opens at 11:30am and closes at 6:45pm

Set Times: nyck 11.50 – 12.30pm, Harrison Storm 1.00pm – 1.50pm, All Our Exes Live In Texas 2.20pm – 3.20pm, Bob Evans 3.50pm – 4.50pm, The Cat Empire 5.20pm – 6.45pm

Where can I park? Is it free?

Free Parking is available in the Mornington Racecourse Public Car Park which can be accessed via Gate 3, 320 Racecourse Road Mornington.

Will there be a taxi rank?

A taxi rank will be in operation from 5:30pm.

Can I bring my own food & drink?

All you could ever want to eat and drink will be available at The Peninsula Picnic and we hope you fully explore the local produce and fabulous restaurants on offer. While not encouraged, food is permitted.

No alcohol can be brought into the event.

Wine glasses are also strictly prohibited.

We will be offering specially branded Vino Goblets for $4.50. This reusable goblet is specially designed to preserve the taste of the wine, it’s environmentally friendly and easy to use while lounging on your picnic rug!

Can I bring my own picnic-ware and cutlery?

You are welcome to bring your own plastic and paper picnic-ware to put together your own plates from local produce offerings.

Restaurants will serve their dishes in recyclable packaging and provide cutlery and napkins.

Metal knives, including cheese knives and glass is strictly prohibited and will be confiscated by security.

Wine glasses are also strictly prohibited.

Is Picnic furniture allowed?

We encourage you to bring along picnic rugs to lounge on for the day. Folding chairs are allowed in the rear section of stage viewing area only. Low beach chairs are allowed in the front section.

Please note that tables, sunshades and umbrellas are prohibited.

Prohibited items will be confiscated by security at the gate.

Are dogs allowed?

The Peninsula Picnnic is a pet free zone so please don’t bring animals with you to site (except for guide dogs).

Can I bring my camera or video recording equipment?

Professional audio and video recording equipment is not permitted. Domestic cameras and video cameras are permitted but not allowed to record live performances. Mobile phones with the ability to record are allowed.

Is smoking permitted?

There will be a designated area for people who wish to smoke at the event. Smoking is only permitted in this area.

Will there be ATMs and eftpos facilities at the event?

ATMs will be ready for when you want to raid the local produce stores to have a go at making your own culinary success. Restaurants, wineries and bars will have eftpos and credit card facilities for your convienience.

Can I buy tickets on the day?

Tickets may be available at the venue on the day subject to availability. The Peninsula Picnic 2016 sold out so please book quickly to avoid disappointment!

Yes.

How do I buy tickets?

Click on the BUY TICKETS NOW button on the home page of this website.

How will I receive my tickets?

Your ticket will be sent as an attachment to the email address you submit with your order. Please print out your tickets and bring with you to scan to gain entry.

Will I be asked for proof of age if I have purchased a child’s ticket?

If you look over 18, yes you will be asked for proof of age at the gate.

Will I need to bring proof of age identification?

Yes.

To purchase alcohol: If you are over 18 years and look under 25 years old – you will require a proof of age wrist band. To receive a wrist band at the Proof of Age Marquee, identification will be required to be shown. In addition Bar and winery service staff may also ask for proof of age when purchasing drinks.

To gain entry with a child’s ticket: If you have a child’s ticket and look over 18 years old, you will need to provide proof of age to security at the entrance to gain entry.

Can I bring my children?

Children are welcome to attend but under 18s must be supervised by a responsible parent or guardian at all times.

What happens if it rains?

The event will go ahead should it  rain so long as it’s safe to do so. In the case of rain please come prepared with wet weather clothing and appropriate footwear.

Is there shade onsite?

There is a limited amount of shade onsite so please come prepared with hats and plenty of sunscreen.

How do I get to Mornington Racecourse?

Drive

Address: Gate 3, 320 Racecourse Rd, Mornington

Travel on M1/Eastlink, Peninsula Link or the Nepean Highway into Mornington. Travel time is just over 1 hour from Melbourne’s CBD.

Free car parking is available at Mornington Racecourse.

Train

Frankston lines depart regularly from Flinders St Station to Frankston Station. For information on public transport options to Mornington Racecourse, please visit the PTV website.

Taxi

Patrons can be dropped off at the Main Entrance via Gate 3, 320 Racecourse Road.
